William (Bill) Hand

Bill Hand received his Biology BA degree from the University of Chicago and his Biomedical Engineering MS from the University of Illinois.

He joined the Biomedical Engineering Department and the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center. There he oversaw the operation & maintenance of the third CT scanner in the country.

After presenting a research paper at the National Institutes of Health, Bill was recruited by General Electric Medical Systems where he was a Senior Systems Engineer in Computer Engineering. He progressed through Manager of Systems Engineering to CT Engineering Manager.

Upon retiring from GE, Bill served as Engineering Manager at Medical Advances that developed specialized antennae for Magnetic Resonance Imaging systems.

He then moved to Pryon Corporation where he served as the VP of Engineering. Pryon developed on-airway CO2 monitoring systems.

For the last 15 years Bill has operated PC Assistants, Inc., a computer consulting company.
